The challenge

  • Develop and design a new Bistro brand to help differentiate it from the hotel and allow them to stand out to attract diners.
  • Reflect the locality of the Bistros and reinforce the quality of the offer.


  • Created the new Bistro Du Vin logo that is sympathetic to its classic style. Using a simple, clean serified typographic stack.
  • Used hand-etched illustrations to add personality, suggest permanence and heritage with a sense of value and craft.
  • Confident use of a singular icon with strong colours for greater impact.
  • Introduced a typewriter font for simplicity, authenticity and to evoke the all-important human touch.


  • Bistro Du Vin has been rolled out nationally across all venues.
