Create a stand-alone identity for the Bistro to sit alongside the core Hotel Du Vin brand in order to help with clarity in the crowded restaurant marketplace.

The challenge
- Develop and design a new Bistro brand to help differentiate it from the hotel and allow them to stand out to attract diners.
- Reflect the locality of the Bistros and reinforce the quality of the offer.
Solution
- Created the new Bistro Du Vin logo that is sympathetic to its classic style. Using a simple, clean serified typographic stack.
- Used hand-etched illustrations to add personality, suggest permanence and heritage with a sense of value and craft.
- Confident use of a singular icon with strong colours for greater impact.
- Introduced a typewriter font for simplicity, authenticity and to evoke the all-important human touch.
Results:
- Bistro Du Vin has been rolled out nationally across all venues.
