“Living in Norfolk means it’s quite the adventure to go to the South West. I’ve been doing a project to promote city breaks by boat and the history, museums and gin experiences has given me the bug.”

We’re a travel, tourism and marketing agency specialising in domestic travel and UK holiday companies.

That means our team are UK travel know-it-all’s, frequently setting off on staycation breaks near and far. We wanted to catch up with some of the team to find out where they love to roam at home and what UK destinations are on their bucket-list for a weekend away.

Our Account Manager, Sophie, tells us why a certain Georgian city is top of her staycation bucket list after being inspired by one of Thissaway’s travel PR clients.

What’s top of your list when it comes to UK travel?
The Georgian city of Bath.

Have you been there before or is it a place that’s on your bucket list?
It’s one that’s on my never-ending bucket list and has been for a while.

What’s inspired you to add it to your bucket list?
Living in the East of England means it’s quite the adventure to go to the South West, but I’ve been doing some work for one of our clients to promote city breaks by boat and researching the history, museums and gin experiences has given me the bug.

What are some of the things you’d like to do when you go there?
I seriously want to commandeer a narrowboat and take a short break along the Kennett and Avon canal and ending up in Bath. I think it will be such a cool way to arrive in the city and makes a change to staying in a hotel BUT if I did have the choice of staying in a hotel it would be a night in The Pig near Bath. The country house hotel has been stalking me on Instagram I swear!
